Wednesday, April 27, 2022 - En-Primeur campaign for the 2021 vintage; 4/25/2022-4/29/2022 (Bordeaux): Pleasing cloudiness to this obvious barrel sample – Mouton naturel, if you will – smells so like fresh gooseberries that it takes me back to preparing gooseberry crumble with my mum as a young boy. Of course, we didn’t make it in a new oak barrel…medium plus intensity acidity is juicy, gooseberry on the palate with creamy lees and oak, textured burr on mid palate. Travels long that oak is a little intrusive on the finish. Hmm
