Sunday, November 9, 2008 - Slightly hazy cherry color. Smell of cherries, vanilla, wet river stones, forest floor, wild mushrooms and graphite. Tasted of cherries, red currants, mushrooms, with great acidity. The tannins were firm, but not overwhelming. Heavy body, balanced by the ethereal aromas of cherries and graphite. On the finish, there was some more graphite with some lemon peel, brown sugar and a slight herbal quality. Very good, paired great with barbecued salmon with oranges.
