Tuesday, March 5, 2024 - Italian Wine Scholar Class @ The Texas Wine School. 80% Chardonnay & 20% Friulano spend 8-10 days on the skins. Organic, unfined, unfiltered. Cloudy, med (+) orange w/ an amber hue. Volatile acidity and Brett eventually dissipate leaving stone fruit, ripe citrus and aromatic herbs. Benefits from air. Pronounced, complex nose of dried apricot, persimmon, orange marmalade, guava, bitter herbs & sweet spices. Dry, but quite fruit-forward, w/ med (+) to high acidity, med tannins and med (+) alcohol (13.5%). Appears full-bodied, with med (+) to pronounced intensity and a mouthwatering sweet & sour and slightly bitter citrus and stone fruit finish. Drink sooner rather than later, with a decant.
