Friday, November 13, 2009 - nothing surprising here. dark purple color. the nose is total jam, blackberry sauce, homeade pie filling and some dark chocolate. the aromas are great. the palate is a bit disappointing. its loaded with fruit on the palate. the tannins are barely there. i like this hedonistic style, but i wish it had some more structure. since it lacks depth and tannic structure, it kinda drops off on the finish. what it's got (dark, jammy fruit) is delicious. i also get a little bit of baking spices, like baker's chocolate and some gingerbread. all things considered, fun for the price. nothing to overanalyze.
