Thursday, March 11, 2010 - I really liked this wine. Immediately on the nose there was a unique, distinct spiciness. It started out with ginger, then evolved toward nutmeg, and finally, something like cloves. Really a treat, and in a class by itself. Very nicely balanced and integrated. The couple extra years of bottle age helped. Really nice combination of dark cherry and plums with all that spiciness. Also has a delightful touch of smoke on the finish.
