Saturday, March 16, 2024 - Pretty decent for a very inexpensive wine. Upon first opening it has the somewhat sharp nose and palate -- that some describe as green pepper along with dark, blackcurrant like fruit -- commonly associated with carménère. It has a kind of roughness in this regard. With aeration and especially by the second day the wine achieves more balance and becomes more quaffable. Makes me curious to try some higher quality carménère one of these days.
