Thursday, March 21, 2024 - Ordered this off the menu of this old school Italian restaurant in Chesterfield, Missouri. The mark up wasn't all that bad at $230, which by my calculation was equal to retail + tax + standard $35 corkage. Anyways, this super Tuscan was a natural choice for our setting. It went really well with dinner (lamb chops, eggplant pasta, chilean seabass, and fried calamaris). It was not decanted but poured into our glasses and allowed to develop over the course of the evening. Chocolate, red fruits, and flowers - the nose was intoxicating. I found myself swirling and sniffing every few minutes. On the palate, it was fresh and fruity, yet dry and mouth-coating with silky tannins. Overall, a great experience.
