Wednesday, September 27, 2023 - Great Sta. Rita Hils Pinot from Wren Hop. Started out a bit restrained but quickly unfolded with time in the glass. Nice nose with a tinge of heat, but the palate is smooth and offers that wonderful combination of red berries and underlying terroir from this appellation. Tears stream down the sides of the glass. Great variation of color from a clear rim to light burgundy then to a deeper red in the center of the glass. Great mouthfeel with a little fine tannin on the back end. Aroma emerges more as well with a bit more time. Wren Hop and this appellation are a wonderful match.
