Sunday, October 19, 2008 - Had this one in the Italian restaurant "Il Pinolo" in Osaka (they have a branch in Tokyo as well, which I can also recommend). The price was the usual Japanese multiplying rate of European price times three, but it was worth it. The wine showed brown sugar notes with tar, rose petals and fresh woody notes. All this was underlined with nice acidity adding to the overall impression of an "all balanced components wine". We did ask the waiter to decant which was definitely a good idea as the wine got better and better with time and air. Certainly this will still keep for a much longer time but it is nice to drink now already.
