Monday, November 14, 2011 - I was getting worried I may have waited too long on this being one of the entry level appellation wines but really enjoyed it. There was a lot of particulates floating around in it so I stood it up for a day. Very clear light ruby color. Nice nose of strawberry, cherry and rhubarb, approaching a candied aroma, but just shy of that. Nice red fruit flavors on the palate, similar to the nose, hint of spices, little earthy. Finish was short initially, but as it opened up became quite a bit longer with some noticeable tannins still, and all balanced with some nice acidity, so it was food friendly.
