Saturday, May 7, 2016 - Matt Neel understands this wine (review: Wines blind 2/2/2012 (Battery Park City)). None of the other tasters quite seem to get it?

AP # 15 02. Deep gold. Unctuous. Aromatic and volatile aroma - but still smooth. Nose and palette? Glace strawberry. Wow. Thick and sweet but not cloying. Very long - 25-30 seconds. With airing you get some papaya and passion fruit, but the strawberry stays. There's a hint of bitterness at the back end so I score 99, not a perfect 100. But I've never (yet) scored a wine 100... Tasted versus a couple of extremely good Keller TBAs, a remarkable Weil TBA, and one of the best ever Haag BAs. They came close but this was better. You get the picture.
