Monday, April 10, 2023 - Had the Mastrojanni BdM 2018 as part of the myths and unicorn tasting at Vineria Aperta Montalcino in Castelnuovo dell’Abate. The nose was instantly noticeable of chalk and mineral which contrasts really nicely to the rich aroma of red fruit, leather, and spices. On the palate, the wine was full-bodied and well-structured, with firm tannins and lively acidity that perfectly balanced the complex layers of flavors. I tasted a harmonious blend of fruit, herbs, and earthy undertones that led to a long and satisfying finish. Overall, a very enjoyable wine. Rich, complex, and satisfying.
