Tasted as part of the Brunello Tasting at Roberto's Ristorante in Vienna/VA Reticent Smell: Tart cherries, some tannins. Good mouthful and ample; not very complex. Apparently the wine was micro oxygenated in cement "eggs" which made it supple at such an early stage. Reminded me of the Corazon del Lago tasted ib Rioja. A general problem with all the wines tasted that evening: They were served too warm...

2023 Montalcino trip, second vineyard visited. Dark purple/brown, strong aroma of ripe fruits. Modest first Brunello taste of red fruits, but more developed- cherries, currants, and into a medium dry and earthy finish hints of pepper, spice. Long linger. Nicely developed rhythms for a young Brunello from a great producer.
Had the Mastrojanni BdM 2018 as part of the myths and unicorn tasting at Vineria Aperta Montalcino in Castelnuovo dell’Abate. The nose was instantly noticeable of chalk and mineral which contrasts really nicely to the rich aroma of red fruit, leather, and spices. On the palate, the wine was full-bodied and well-structured, with firm tannins and lively acidity that perfectly balanced the complex layers of flavors. I tasted a harmonious blend of fruit, herbs, and earthy undertones that led to a long and satisfying finish. Overall, a very enjoyable wine. Rich, complex, and satisfying.

Italy walkabout tasting, no detailed tasting notes. I like the style of this producer, never over the board, always fragrant and elegant, soft mouth feel, spices.

Juicy and fresh, real class here, impeccable balance, lingers on. Unforced style.
