Saturday, March 2, 2024 - This is interesting overall, way less ripe than usual Marlborough SB, very pristine and without over the head ammonia. However, this isn’t my favourite expression and to me it seemed a little one-sided to be a great wine.

Very pristine and crystal clear nose. Rhubarb, a lot of gooseberry, and lime. A touch of jalapeño. I do not get a lot of tropical fruits, maybe distant pineapple. Ammonia and a little ozone, river rocks. This isn’t overwhelming but to be honest, it also isn’t incredibly complex.
On the palate, it is dry and the high acidity dominates. Jalapeños and grassy quality come to the forefront. Lemon juice and some gooseberry.
The finish is defined by the lingering acidity and gooseberry.
8+/18
