Sunday, October 20, 2013 - To the eye, there is absolutely no sign of aging. The color is a deep, dark purple which is just as opaque as it gets. Let the wine sit and breathe for a minimum of 30 minutes. The nose is quite complex: perfumed as it is co-fermented with 4% Viognier and beneath that you can smell notes of bloody, rare prime rib and dried cherries.

The mouthfeel is seductively smooth with the flavors being both of beef and berries. As is fans out the fruitier notes take over and coat the tongue and teeth with subtle tannins.

Glad I held onto this as long as I did and wish I had more.
