Friday, December 8, 2023 - A special dinner in Newport for my girlfriend Katie's birthday. Homemade tagliatelle bolognese was the perfect complement to this Sangiovese. This wine would have benefitted from a (double) decant, but sadly we hadn't the time nor opportunity at the restaurant. Luckily, the medium/strong tannins mellowed an hour or so after pouring, allowing notes of cedar and spice to come through.
