Tuesday, June 10, 2008 - Ditto Medo's note: this, for the price, has great stuffing in all the right places. If you can come to terms with the fact these German Pinots won't have nearly the tannic backbone that Burgundy exhibits, then you'll have no problem enjoying this or any other true-blue, well-crafted German Pinot. This wine delivers generous vanillin and rich florality from the use of med-toast new oak, from which the palate discerns what little, fine-grained tannin there is. The rest is just pure, delicious cherry and raspberry and clove. I like this a lot, and for the money, this is unbeatable. Cheaper than the K-Rumpf 'M' and marginally better at the moment.
