Thursday, January 14, 2016 - Popped and decanted, no sediment, medium-plus garnet. Pronounced aromas of dark fruits, violet, smoldering embers, parsley flakes, serrano pepper, tilled soil and crushed stones. Medium-plus body. Flavors of blackberry, black cherry, mint, herbaceous green and a deeper impression of crushed stones and minerals. Wonderfully dry. The tannins are (still) quite chewy and astringent on the plus close.
Although the tannins have barely receded, this is in the zone and shows a wonderfully fresh vibrance; drink now and over the next 5+ years. So distinctive.
