Friday, August 15, 2014 - One hour decant before the first pour (give it at least a couple of hours if you can, the longer the better). Very dark pour, leggy in the glass. The bouquet is wonderful, filled with currant, tar, leather, violets, a touch of cedar, very dense. The palate was out of step with the bouquet but slowly integrated as the oxygen did its work. The currants and cedar were present, the fruit muted. A little grainy with tannins and medium acidity on the back of the tongue, the body of this wine is medium to heavy with a long tannic finish. Let this one breath like crazy!
