95 Points

Sunday, August 1, 2010 - I will preface this note with the fact that wine has been somewhat inconsistent from bottle to bottle and this bottle was a standout. This wine is now rich red brown and dark in color. The only complaint was a slight haze. It has an aromatic nose of aged prunes, faint strawberries, smoke, and red licorice. It was full bodied with soft round tannins and a powerful flavor of baby port with prunes, strawberries, tangerines on the finish, with a highlight of white pepper and vanilla. The finish is long and luscious. Drink it now for it is at it's peak. Don't wait more than 9 months! We had it with the course and while there were no super strong cheese it complimented them all nicely.
