Saturday, February 1, 2014 - Dull carmine; nose shows aged, leathery, cherry pit, sour, earthy; palate is richer and deeper with very sour cherry, pit, leathery tannin, I like the burly descriptor but this lacked some freshness to think it will last a long time; pleasant and drinkable but was missing that freshness that I love in Burg; drink probably within the next 5 years, better stored examples may last longer but I think the wine will suffer a bit with extended aging.
