93 Points

Saturday, October 26, 2013 - Cork was saturated and came out in pieces, but the wine showed no evidence of advanced oxidation. Surprisingly ripe, sweet and fruity given its age. No evidence of oak though the label says it was "aged in 55 gallon barrels." Tannin completely resolved, color is lovely ruby/garnet. Evolved quickly in the glass revealing a light/medium bodied wine whose various flavor components have melded together so seamlessly, it is impossible to separate them out individually. After 60 minutes or so, it began to fade, but it was fun to track and fascinating to ponder.
