Thursday, July 2, 2009 - Decanted for 1 hour prior to dinner. Big syrah nose: blackberry syrup, tar, grilled meat and espresso. Big and full-bodied on the palate with dark, dark fruit, roasted herbs, more grilled meat and a spicy finish. Velvety mouthfeel with lingering tannins on the finish. I would have rated this higher but it seemed just a little OTT for me. Give more cellar time.
