Friday, April 26, 2013 - Another terrific bottle, the 85 margaux is just sailing along nicely. Popped and poured the floral perfumed nose gives way to warm toasty notes of red and dark berries on the velvety palate. Just another reason to be nostalgic for the 1980s, before money and science (and climate change?) enabled all and sundry to make good wines year in and year out, so great wines like this from a not-so-great year, opened nearly 3 decades later, are that rare and delightful gift of luck!

4/27/2013 9:24:00 AM - I couldn't agree more! The great wines of the 70's and 80's both Old World and New World has aged magnificently. Time will tell if the late 90's and after will see many age as well. I fear not!
