Monday, November 16, 2015 - Cassis nose with hint of Bordeaux funk. Very rich on the attack. Currant and cassis, tannins breaking down, sandy texture. I really like this. David gets brown sugar. Soft, smooth, giving texture. With air, blue fruit, smooth texture. Almost liqueur-like blue fruit, weightless palate. There is a plush luxuriousness, but in a very refined, balanced way, that I find across the 2000 vintage. At 15 years, this is smooth and delicious and classy and rich and very satisfying. Bought on release, first bottle I've opened. Racines.
