Saturday, January 1, 2011 - New Year's Eve party -- WOTN as it should have been vs Showket, Heitz, Brunello Riservas. A dense, complex wine with lush dark fruit, hints of cigar box and tar. Perfectly balanced. Dark, slightly sweet fruit at mid-palate w/ silky mouthfeel and integrated tannins. I love this wine, but what is not to love. I agree with other reviewers that this vintage of Insignia seems more refined and elegant than others.
