Thursday, September 20, 2018 - Good dense, dark ruby/purple. No bricking, little sediment.

Singing nose of creme de cassis, black plums, raspberry liquer. Some wood—white mocha—saddle leather, and nondescript spice notes hover.

Last tasted 3 years hence, and was impenetrable and tannic. Strikes me now as similar to a 2013 Quintessa or 2012 Ark. Very sweet, sexy and giving, but very young.

(This review will be finished at a later time.)

Ok— took a break to get another case under 250 purr.

Palate gorgeous crême de cassis, sweet plums, some blackberry compôte, smoke, calf leather and violets.

Finishes over 30 seconds. Proof that popular doesn’t suck: Mozart and Insignia.

Not to pick on anyone, but to poo-poo this wine is to poo-poo Yosemite. You ain’t been there (or you are effen INSANE.)

Had with rare+ prime rib at Sundance Palo Alto. A riddiculicious wine, who is a great place. Enjoy.
