Friday, October 9, 2020 - Riojan investigation (Frank's place in Matraville): From Coravin. Gamey, meaty and funky over sour red currant, vanilla extract initially. The fruit starts to ripen with time in the glass and is joined by little tobacco and tomato leaf as well as a slightly oxidised note and (possibly) a touch of volatility. It has medium plus intensity acidity, chalky, grippy, drying tannins over the top of fresh red fruit. This improves with time, becoming more harmonious. Nice.
