Dry, full-bodied, grainy (perhaps the unfiltered effect), med - acidity, med + alcohol (which contradicts the tears), med tannins, complex with hints of ash, licorice, bursting black berries, charred cedar, twigs, blueberries. This wine opens up amazingly in the glass but has a medium finish. A nice treat.
