Saturday, January 21, 2017 - Dark ruby in color with a nose of dark cherries, mineral and mocha. Palate was medium bodied, good volume with ripe red fruit, earth and less obvious oak than the nose. Muscular with decent acidity, mild tannins and a pleasant finish. Drank over two nights and the oak never became overbearing or annoying. Terrior correct and more approachable than what you would expect from a 2005 Rugiens.
