92 Points

Sunday, April 7, 2013 - (released August 1, 2012) Brick red with lightened edge, this has that tempranillo nose of faded rose hips and with more air, beautiful wood/forest notes. On the palate, this is a lightly pickled Rainier cherry resting on old parchment. Cedar and a hint of black pepper emerge with air. Over time, there's a disconnect between the nose (which gets more developed and nuanced) and the mid palate (which gets more astringent and singular). Perhaps with 10 more years, this will become more interesting. 92+
