Friday, October 14, 2022 - Strong whiff of TCA on the cork set me off, but at least initially it seems the wine might be sound. There is a touch of chlorine on the nose but the palate is so fatty rich in a good way that it seems possibly clean. Lots of secondary funky farmhouse butter notes and some oak. So much richer than any earlier vintage of this wine! Blind I might have guessed Les Roises. Delicious, and may have arrived at the peak for my preferences.
Curiously I also got a whiff of TCA from the cork of my last bottle as well, and that bottle was fairly mute... but perhaps these corks are just a bit moldy.
