Friday, January 18, 2013 - What a crazy year it was! The european climate moved south just to confuse us all. No, this isn't exactly your textbook bordeaux, but quite a nice sniffer anyway. Deep aromas of strawberry jam, english fruitcake, ripe plums, sweet liquorice, spicebox and good vintage port. On the palate big, smooth and fruity - and surprisingly well balanced. No dry, hard or dusty tannins. No heaviness or excessive alcohol. Well, not really much of a structure to match food either. But lots of dense ripe silky fruit and almost grenache-like hedonistic pleasure (strange thing RMP didn't like it more). Now and over the next few. On its own, or with cheese.
