Wednesday, March 16, 2011 - App : Clear with med+ intensity. Almost purple with strong ruby tinge throughout. Obvious maturity signs. Nose : Clean. Med+ Intensity. Developing. Sweet red fruits - redcurrant/cherry. Nicely integrated spicey oak. Palate : Dry. Med acidity/tannin. Med+ body/flavour intensity. Interesting mature notes of meats - salami aswell as intense and brooding red turning to black fruits. Interesting sour notes. Quite long. Conc : When I drank this wine 2 years ago it wasn't a patch on this. Evolving beautifully. Very expensive wine and beginning to show why now. Clearly a wine that must be cellared and drunk old/mature. Still plenty of time left to enjoy this superb wine. A joy to drink but would be even better with a plate full of quality Italian meats, breads and cheeses.
