Saturday, February 20, 2016 - This bottle was as close to perfect as any I've ever had the pleasure of tasting, though I can't rate it 100 if only on principle. Easily the WOTN, it has the complete package. Decanted 4 hours, cork perfect and wet about 1/4 up the side. Deep red color, wonderful rich perfumed nose of plum, spice, and a perfect dose of brett; on the palate it has everything: mouth coating, rich fruit and soft tannins, balanced with a bit of forest floor, saddle leather and dried meat. Soft herbs, cherry, plum, so much going on that it defies classification. Some bordos lately have been a bit hollow on the mid-palate for me, but this has everything going strong from the initial attack to the long, long finish. Average from 5 tasters: 97.6
