Saturday, August 6, 2011 - Some developed coloring, but still dark. Bricking in the edges.

Smell of pencil, some woody spice, maybe a hint of sweet tobacco and some fruit in the background.
Taste is concentrated, dry, bit pointy and the developed characters way override the little bit of fruit I could find in this wine.
The finish is long, dry, leaving trace of pencil and wood.

I suspect this bottle was decanted for to long or in some other way was not optimal. It seemed to have rid itself of the fruit that would have tied this up to be a very good wine.
I did not find that it developed much in the glass either.
