Saturday, December 20, 2014 - Not decanted, consumed over 2+ hours. Generally simple but enjoyable, with black cherry/currant fruit slowly drying out and being replaced by a not-unpleasant sense of beef stock and lightly-carmelized veggies. More structure than I expected. Really, this was a better wine than this note probably makes it sound, and it was a fair match for a quasi-cassoulet made with chicken, beans, ham, and squash. Not dead, but drink up soon, especially if you want to capture any of the fruit.
