Sunday, December 10, 2017 - This wine is aging superbly! After a few bad experiences with some other older Bordeauxs—such as the Clos du Marquis 2000–This bottle has renewed my faith in the utiliy of aging these wines. The color reveals no real hints of age – – there is a slight lightening along the lip, but absolutely no Browning. It’s still a beautiful dark red color, leaning at times to purple. Bouquet is somewhat subtle, but it’s clearly a cedar box style. It is in the mouth where everything comes together: this wine is perfectly developed, harmonious, with velvety feel that never seems loosely nit because some soft tannins and a dash of acidity keeps the whole thing together. Very fresh on the aftertaste. This Wine may stay at this plateau for five or more years, but I doubt it will significantly improve, and if I had any more bottles I would drink I’m up now.
