Friday, January 28, 2022 - Very nicely aged left bank Bordeaux. This wine still has length left in the bottle despite 20 years. Beautiful deep dark red color with a hint of brown from ageing. Nose is complex with chocolate, leather, minimal earth tones, and minimal oak. Mouthfeel is full and smooth, coating the tongue. Palate reveals moderately fine tannins admixed with dark berries, more leather, a touch of acidity, and hints of oak. Long finish, a lovely wine. This Bordeaux was paired with lovely short ribs served with heavy gravy, a perfect combination.
