Tuesday, June 22, 2010 - 10-2-09 My first bottle of the 06. Caramel apple, buttered popcorn and some mineral undertones on the nose and palate with perhaps some hints of orange blossom. While this is still a full bodied chard, the 06 vintage doesn't seem to have the depth that the 05's had and seems to be abit lighter bodied, but is a big, rich california Chard none the less. An excellent bottle of wine.
10-16-09 Again, not as big as the 05's and on opening I thought it was lacking abit of depth and richness, but when I tasted it again on day 2, it seemed to have picked up quite abit of depth and complexity while still maintaining a slightly acidic, mineraly core, which kept it from demonstrating that overly buttery characteristic that so many big CA chards seem to have.
