Medium plus ruby with garnet at the rim, showing a bit of color development. Correct nose with a sweet intensity of ripe CA Cab, prominent cedar and freshly-sanded wood (the oak sticks out a bit), slight development (sweet fig notes, slight bruised apple), blackcurrant, and a hint of stewed bell peppers / faint olive.
In the mouth, medium plus body, elevated alcohol (14.5% and feels like it), medium plus acid, medium tannins (starting to round out).
Seems pretty textbook to me.
