Fruit flavors of blueberry, blackberry, and plum still have punch, followed by secondary notes of chocolate, cedar, and leather - all integrated quite well. Color a bright - as opposed to dark - red. 14.5% alcohol. Exceeded my (somewhat low) expectations. This wine won't change your life, but it is a well-made Napa cabernet that has aged well - and delivers.
This opaque red/garnet wine was tasted in double-blind fashion, with the bottle kindly provided by K.J. It flaunts aromas of cassis, espresso and sage, but also shows a bit of a raisiny/pruney element. Full-bodied, round and with ample sweet tannins, it follows with ripe flavors and a moderate amount of oak. The alcohol (listed as 14.5%) stays nicely integrated throughout the attack and middle palate, but does deliver some heat on the medium-length finish. Best served at 55-60°F, this wine should drink nicely for another 7-8 years. Drink now-2022.
Quite nice and rounded. Not overly dry and very fruit forward. While I wouldn't call this a "big" Napa cab, I would call it a front runner directly behind that group. Great for an outstanding dinner party with different types of wine drinkers but may be on the lower end for a connoisseur. Still yet an excellent drinking cab worthy of a better score than people are giving it.
Someone said they would have been happy if they spent 8-10 bucks on this wine. If you thought that was an $8 dollar wine, then I think you need a different hobby.
