Friday, June 14, 2013 - Big nose of Framboise, blackberries and black cherries. The palate has precision and focus with ripe black fruits controlling all else; I get currant, pomegranate and blackberries. Hints of soy, cardamom, worn leather and violets show themselves nicely and the balance is near spot on with tannins resolving nicely. Some mid-palate plushness and the finish goes long and all the fruits remain in play for many a moment.
My final and best showing of three. You can always to cound on Shafer to deliver the goods.
