Sunday, January 18, 2009 - Pretty medium ruby color. Aromas balance dark currant and berries with earth, violet, stone and stem scents. There is just a hint of greenness here but its not unpleasant at all. Dry and savory in the mouth with earthy, mineral dominated flavors. The fruit is there and nicely formed but at this point taking a secondary role to the the mineral streak. Finish shows a touch of the nose's greenness and shows proper, chewy rusticity. Nice middle weight burg that should soften with 5 years or so in the cellar. For the $20/bottle I paid, a steal!
