Friday, May 22, 2015 - A bit of a risk to have waited so long, but the wine has mellowed very nicely. The nose begins with a pungent raw meat that dissipates to reveal some brooding sour cherry and a hint of currant. Full in the mouth, seems even more brawny than my last taste, but a more cohesive experience - not too much fruit but a mellow integration of the tannin plus a hint of smokey wood - with a great finish. Begs for simple rich food which in turn begs for more of the wine. A pleasant experience worth the wait.
