From a case purchased as futures. Scored 89 by Parker upon release. 13% alcohol. Low neck fill. Cork in good shape. Obvious browning in glass. Good, soft, fruit on palate with soft, drying tannins in finish. Obviously in decline and needs to be drunk near term. Fine sediment coating inside of bottle.
The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), chocolate and coffee. It tastes like black currant (cassis), coffee and oak. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity. Very much a finesse wine, enjoyable bottle which may nearing end of window.
Disappointment. Have enjoyed the less expensive 2000 bordeaux over the past year or so as they are all coming into their own. This was either closed down or past its prime. Very little fruit, somewhat bitter and did not improve over the evening.
