Not sure I agree with all these notes to ‘drink up.’ All of our bottles were in good condition and drinking well, if anything could use more time. This was one of my favorite wines and drank perfectly with the beef Wellington pairing. Lest elegant than most Margaux but not in a bad way, just more robust. Also the gap between this ‘second wine’ and the Chateau Palmer’ seems to be getting smaller, especially if you take price into account. Double decanted 90 min before serving and that was fine. More time would have been ok too.
Popped n' poured last nite. Bricking, pale red color. The wine is aging. Nose of earth and mushrooms in that classic left bank style. Still black fruit here but I can see where some might think this wine is past its prime. I enjoyed its earthy, musty aromas and flavors, along with coffee beans and some cedar. No need to wait further on this one tho.
This is drinking very well right now. 1st of 2 bottles bought at auction. Must have been well stored and cared for based on my experience relative to some other reviews I'm seeing. Great on nights 1 and 2. Some sediment. Great color, stone fruits, tastes reasonably mature, but not in decline.

Low neck fill. Black-purple in glass. Lovely stylish bouquet just what you would expect from a nice claret. Just barely fading rims visible in glass. Medium body on palate with low acidity and moderate tannins. Slightly beyond peak. A little sediment coats inside of bottle.
