Saturday, August 23, 2014 - Back at my new favorite place the Bern's of Italian wines. I didn't know what to expect given this was "just" the regular Barbaresco bottling, but decided to give it a shot. This blew my mind as we decanted and drank it over 4 hours. Beautifully mature nose of dark fruit, tar, earth, mushroom and dried roses. The palate was round and full in the mouth with wonderful balance and symmetry. The tannins are fully resolved and the fruit and tertiary nuances are stunning on the long, delicious finish. I loved this and fortunately the restaurant was kind enough to let me take another bottle home. I can't wait to have this again.
