Friday, February 13, 2009 - My first muscadet, so not a lot to compare. Crystal clear color, someone said platinum/gold and that nails it. Nose is very floral, but reminds me of honeysuckle. Minerality and wet chalk in there too. On the palate there is salinity, a little spritz and tart apples with lemon. Think Granny Smith a little bit unripe. Fills in with remarkable length and body, but the acid dominates. Should do well with lots of types of food. One sip encourages another. I bought this with an eye to summer drinking at the lake, but it will be hard to keep my hands off till then.
