Friday, April 26, 2013 - Beautiful dark ruby red, with charming nose of lead pencil, earth, purple fruits, licorice, and touches of cigar and oak. Needed a bit of time to open up. When hitting the palate, there's funky black fruits, chocolate, burned vanilla, spice and minerals. Tannins are noticeable, but very fine and sweet. Medium length finish with sweet plum, tobacco leaf and spice. Classic, rich mouthfeel. Solid structure, great balance and very smooth.
