89 Points

Wednesday, May 3, 2023 - S$100-$150 open theme: So dark in colour with high alcohol and extracted fruit. My first instinct was a 2005 right-bank but once it was revealed to be a non-Bordeaux, it was obvious that this was a Oz Shiraz from the same period. Couldn’t have been a new-world Cab with the lack of greenness, and plummy notes - the slate of new-worlds tasted last Saturday helped me out here. Not my style but drinkable.

5/4/2023 2:01:00 PM - Seems like the guests missed the $100 theme with the bulk of the wines.

5/6/2023 7:47:00 AM - My point was market value would be $100 if they were to be auctioned - and not all wines were old.

5/6/2023 4:27:00 PM - No they would not be $100 plus.

5/6/2023 5:43:00 PM - Think you were primarily referring to the Foillard - https://www.idealwine.com/uk/acheter-vin/B2252664-402-1-Bottle-Morgon-Cote-du-Py-Jean-Foillard-2005-Red.jsp aged foillard fetches a lot at auction. From the other wines only El Enemigo Chard didn’t hit the mark but that was an extra.
